Sinclair Scores

Sinclair scores more fairly comparing lifters of different body weights.
The score is obtained by multiplying the lifter's Snatch and Clean & Jerk total by a coefficent which is based on body weight.

The total lifts of the gold medal winners in every weight class at each Olympic Games are used to determine the formula that will be used for calculating Sinclair coefficients. Thus, Sinclair coefficients and scores are only valid for the four-year period commencing on 1 January of the year immediately following an Olympic Games. Sinclair formula 2017 - 2020

Malone-Meltzer

Malone-Meltzer coefficients are used to take into account the fact that strength and speed generally begins to diminish once an athlete reaches the age of about 30. If age is to be taken into account (for example, in Masters' competitions) the two coefficients are normally both applied to produce a 'Sinclair-Malone-Meltzer' score.
The calculator can be used to find your Sinclair score and (if you turn 30 or older this year) your Sinclair-Malone-Meltzer score.
