Back again!

Excuses for not keeping diary up to date:
  1. Been kinda busy with stuff for work, spending time in the evenings and some weekends - something that I thought would have been behind me at my age
  2. Injuries have become quite a restriction now.
However, I've still been doing what I can at the gym, albeit not as enthusiastic or as organized as I used to be.

The warning I had in my left forearm while doing some weighted pull-ups culminated in what felt like a biceps tendon rupture about a week or so later as I started to do some barbell shrugs. Went to my GP a couple of days later to see what he thought. He reckoned it was probably just a supinator tear. Saw a physio and had a US scan which confirmed what I thought.

So here I am with a matching pair of ruptured biceps! Tore the right one about three years ago. The difference this time was that it was pretty painful, swollen and bruised for a couple of weeks, whereas when I tore the right one the only symptoms were a kind of weird sensation when it went and, of course, the tell-tale change in shape and position of the muscle.

I'm off to see a surgeon on Friday, but don't really expect he will suggest attempting a repair job. Same guy how repaired my shoulder 18 months ago. Not looking forward to what he's going to say about people who don't learn from their mistakes in the past

Will catch up with some postings for what I've been doing later.
